What is Magentix?

Staff ring up orders on their own phone or tablet (BYOD, no hardware, works indoor or outdoor), and customers can also self-order by scanning a QR code. Payment is PayNow-direct or cash, straight to the stall owner's bank account with zero transaction fees. It includes a real-time order dashboard, queue management, and web push pickup notifications.

Do I need any special hardware?

No. Magentix is a bring-your-own-device (BYOD) mobile POS — it runs on any phone, tablet, or laptop with a browser. Most stall owners use the same device they already own. There is no proprietary POS terminal, card reader, or printer to buy. Setup takes approximately 10 minutes.

How does payment actually work? Where does my money go?

Patrons pay via PayNow directly to your registered UEN or mobile number. Money lands in your bank account within 3 seconds. Magentix never touches, holds, or processes the payment. We charge S$0 in transaction fees. The system generates an EMVCo-compliant SGQR code dynamically with the exact order amount embedded.

How much does Magentix cost?

Magentix Starter costs S$216 per year (S$18 per month equivalent). Pro costs S$336 per year (S$28/month). Business costs S$696 per year (S$58/month). For coffeeshop operators, Location Standard costs S$576 per year. All plans are annual, paid once upfront, with zero transaction fees on any plan.

How is Magentix different from GrabFood?

GrabFood charges a 25-30% commission on every order. Magentix charges zero commission and zero transaction fees. GrabFood owns the customer relationship — Magentix gives the stall owner direct access to their own customers, order data, and repeat buyer tracking. Magentix payments go directly to the stall's bank account via PayNow, with no intermediary settlement.

How is Magentix different from Qashier, EPOS, or traditional POS systems?

Traditional POS systems like Qashier and EPOS require S$3,000 to S$10,000 in hardware and charge S$60-S$200 per month in software fees, plus 0.5-2.8% per card transaction. Magentix requires zero hardware, costs S$18-S$58 per month (billed annually), and charges zero transaction fees because payments flow directly through PayNow.

What if my patrons don't have PayNow?

Every major Singapore bank app supports PayNow — DBS PayLah, OCBC Pay Anyone, UOB TMRW, GovTech LifeSG. PayNow has over 5 million registered users in Singapore, covering the vast majority of the adult population.

What happens if I cancel?

No lock-in. Annual plans aren't refundable but you can cancel anytime — your QR codes simply stop working at end of subscription period. You keep all your order data.

Can my staff who don't speak good English use this?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The dashboard is icon-driven, designed to be operated with one hand while cooking. We are adding Mandarin and Malay UI in Q2 2026.

Do I have to give you my customer data?

Accepted Answer

Customer phone numbers and order history belong to you, not us. You can export them anytime. Magentix does not sell, share, or monetise your customer data.

What if I already use a POS system?

Magentix can be your mobile POS — staff ring up walk-in cash and PayNow orders on their own phone, and customers can self-order by QR, all on the same order board. You can also run it alongside an existing POS during transition. No hardware to buy either way.
